About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Brooklyn, L&B Spumoni Gardens has long been a beloved Italian restaurant that effortlessly captures the essence of Sicilian-American cuisine. From the moment you step in, the vibrant and welcoming atmosphere sets the tone for a memorable dining experience, whether you’re sharing a casual meal with family or marking a special occasion.

At the core of L&B Spumoni Gardens' appeal is their iconic Sicilian Square Pizza Pie—each slice boasting a satisfyingly crisp, golden bottom with a soft, pillowy dough that melts in your mouth. The rich, tangy tomato sauce is carefully balanced with just the right amount of cheese, creating harmony in every bite. Just as legendary is their L&B Homemade Spumoni Quart, a colorful, refreshingly smooth Italian ice cream adorned with generous chunks of pistachio nuts that provide a delightful crunch and nutty finish.

The menu extends far beyond pizza, presenting an array of classic Italian dishes cooked to perfection. Crispy, golden Fried Calamari arrives tender and succulent, ideal for dipping into their robust marinara sauce. The Chicken Parmigiana is a comforting embrace of juicy breaded chicken layered under melted cheese and savory tomato sauce. For pasta lovers, the Eggplant Sicilian is an indulgent layered masterpiece featuring ziti and a medley of cheeses that ooze warmth and flavor in every forkful.

Lighter options abound with an impressively fresh Caesar Salad where crisp romaine and homemade dressing harmonize perfectly, and the Fresh Mozzarella, Tomato & Basil Salad showcases simplicity elevated with quality ingredients. Those craving heartier fare might turn to the Chicken Milano, a grilled delight crowned with fresh mozzarella and ripe tomatoes, served on a bed of peppery arugula.

The dining experience here is enhanced by an inviting outdoor seating area, allowing guests to soak up the Brooklyn charm while savoring their meal. Whether you arrive for a casual pizza slice at the walk-up window or settle in for a full-service dinner, the atmosphere effortlessly strikes a balance between familial warmth and lively energy.

Customer reviews consistently emphasize not just the quality of the food, but the genuine joy of gathering here. Jeff Matisoff describes a perfect afternoon with friends and family, praising the entire meal from start to finish—including the "baked clams (to die for)" and “soft and delicious chicken parm.” Jeff Beal highlights the legendary status of their pizza, noting the "soft pillowy dough” of the Sicilian squares contrasted with the “cheesy goodness” of the round pie. Meanwhile, Mary raves about the perfectly cooked shrimp fra diavolo and tender fried calamari—details that speak to the care and precision behind every dish.

L&B Spumoni Gardens is more than just a place to eat; it’s a cherished Brooklyn institution where every bite tells a story of tradition, passion, and community. Whether you’re indulging in their creamy Spumoni or biting into a slice of that renowned pizza, the flavors linger in your mind, calling you back time and again to experience authentic Italian comfort food made with heart.

Wonderful doesn't come close. We were a party of 10 including 3 kids, and we couldn't have had a more perfect afternoon. The food!! Yes of course the pizza but everything we ate was delicious -- mozzarella tomato salad, calamari, baked clams (to die for), soft and delicious chicken parm, the eggplant Sicilian ziti, the spaghetti marinara... Great inexpensive house chianti. And of course an incredible dessert platter. Thanks to the entire team - we will definitely be back!

Been coming here for decades. They have a full service restaurant with seafood and pasta. They have a walk up cash only pizza window with their famous squares. It is 4$ a slice/square - but worth it. They have a large outdoor seating area but can get chilly in the shade. There is usually street parking. I will post more pictures once I come for dinner at the restaurant. They have ice cream and spumoni. I tried the seasonal pumpkin flavor and it is delicious. It was not too pumpkiny or sweet - it was a nice pumpkin spice flavor. You can also buy tubs of ice cream, Italian iced and spumoni.

True to their legendary status the pizza was amazing, round and square both a different delight in every bite . From the soft pillowy dough of the Sicilian to the cheesy goodness of the Round cheese both were delicious, the spumoni was a very nice touch to finish off a pizza pie meal , lots of fresh pistachio chunks and packed with flavor to boot. Thank you for the good time and great food.

The Sicilian slice had the perfect amount of doughiness and the perfect crispy bottom. We had the shrimp fra diavolo with linguini pasta. Pasta was cooked to al dente and paired very well with the red sauce. Fried calamari was tender, not chewy at all, and was delicious with the marinara sauce. Definitely coming back to try other items from the menu and the GELATO!

As a man who grew up in Coney Island and Brooklyn boy, this place brings you back to the old school Italian deli feel. The food tastes like the heroes you get from the best pizzerias and they obviously focus on the sauce the way it's intended like real Italians would. I only had the tomato Sicilian with vodka sauce, meatball hero with fresh mozzarella, and shared a chicken parm with vodka sauce. Each bite was delicious and the service was great despite being busy. On the way out, the guy remembered my name and asked how was the food. I said, it was amazing and it definitely was. Come try this place out. There is also pasta as well. Parking is a bit crazy and people were double parked down the block, waiting to get in. You must try it if in the area!! Sorry as i didn't get the usual photos I typically don't when trying places out but trust me, it's good. They also have this ice cream boat that people order for special occasions. It's a mix between pistachio, chocolate, and creamoso ice creams with cones and piled high. You can find pictures of it in other reviews.

This place goes way back so they must be doing something good. It’s a few blocks away from subway stations so it’s pretty accessible and looks relatively safe to walk around. They’re known for square pizzas & spumonis so we got those. You can order from the window outside and eventually eat at the outdoor tables or you can get a table inside. The square pizza’s dough is light & airy so you can eat a bunch, the regular slice is much more dense but thin so you can still scarf a few. They’re both baked fresh, that's why it tasted great. The spumoni we got wasn’t too sweet, had pistachio in it and tasted great.
